Mark your calendars for a family friendly Earth Day event on the Burnsville Town Square. What better way to celebrate our beautiful planet; our majestic mountains, ancient rivers, and fertile farmland than with an outdoor festival. The Yancey County Farmers’ Market will kick off the Earth Day festivities at 8:30 am with opening day of the market’s 25th year. In addition to seasonal fruits and vegetables and local arts and crafts at the market we have fun and FREE nature-loving exhibits and activities planned all day from 10-3 on the grassy square. There will be live music, food vendors, art and play stations, and interactive exhibits in agriculture, climate, creation care, fishing and outdoor sports, local green businesses, green energy, parks, forestry, public lands, pollinators, puppets, reducing pollution, our Toe River watershed and more.
