The Parkway Playhouse's final production of its mainstage summer season is a splashy, stylish, and clever stage adaptation of the hugely popular Jane Austen novel Pride and Prejudice.
The production will open on August 27 and continue on weekends through September 4.
All performances will be held at the Parkway Playhouse's historic theatre located at 202 Green Mountain Drive in Burnsville. Performances begin at 7:30pm with one 5pm performance on Sunday August 29.
Tickets range from $10 to $20 with discounts for students, classes, groups of 15 or more, active military, senior citizens.

Sept. 14 to Nov. 02 - Parkway Playhouse Performing Arts Classes The Parkway Playhouse has announced that it will be holding classes for area youth who are interested in the performing arts. The theatre will offer two 8-week sessions starting on September 14 and running through November 2. One session will be for students aged 6 to 10 and the second will be for students aged 11 to 18. Each session will meet once a week on Tuesdays in Burnsville. Sessions for students aged 6-10 will meet on Tuesdays from 4 to 5pm and tuition will be $80.00. Sessions for students aged 11-18 will meet on Tuesdays from 5:15-6:45pm and tuition is $100.
Students will be immersed in games and exercises designed to help them develop as performers and all students will get experience in singing, dancing, and acting. The program is being coordinated by Mary Katherine Smith, who has worked at the Parkway Playhouse and has extensive experience in teaching the performing arts to young children.

Sept. 24 to Sept. 26 - Oil Painting Workshop Three day oil painting workshop taught by Sandra Gates at her studio for the beginner and more experienced painters. The workshop will cover many oil painting techniques, some new to the artists and some a review, in a fun, relaxed setting. Hours are 9:00am-4:00pm, Friday and Saturday, and 9:00am to early afternoon on Sunday. Cost is $190. Lodging is available for out of town artists.
